The PGC provides Digital Elevation Models (DEM) derived from DigitalGlobe, Inc. optical imagery to United States federally-funded polar researchers. These guides will introduce stereoscopic imagery, explain eligibility and license restrictions and workflow for requesting existing or newly-created DEMs through the PGC.
Guides
-
Introduction to Stereoscopic Imagery
Explore the differences between monoscopic and stereoscopic satellite imagery.
-
Processing Algorithms
PGC uses open-source libraries such as SETSM and ASP to generate stereo-derived elevation models.
-
Usage Guidelines
Important information about acknowledgement and use in academic journals or the web.
-
Requesting Existing DEMs
Detailed workflow for searching for pre-produced DEMs and requesting them from the PGC.
-
Requesting New DEMs
Detailed workflow for searching for stereo satellite imagery and requesting a custom-created DEM from PGC.
