What I Do
I help run, investigate, and develop PGC’s various data processing routines, usually involving remote sensing data. My current work is centered around the production of digital elevation models derived from high-resolution satellite imagery. The large scale of our production efforts requires the processing power of a supercomputer to complete in reasonable time. Both extra care and consideration must be taken to go all the way from source data to user-friendly products for distribution, and this is where my current focus is. I also assist polar scientists in obtaining the satellite imagery they need for their research in the Arctic and Antarctic.

I enjoy making music with my family in both the St. Anthony Park Community Band and Roseville Lutheran Church Jazz Band. When I can get out of the cities, I love to hike and give an impromptu planetarium-style show to friends under a clear night sky. Proud survivor of winter bike-commuting to the office for 2 years running! Sadly my bikes can’t say the same.
